Rose-breasted Grosbeak

Only birds sing the music of heaven in this world.

Rose-breasted Grosbeak (RealAudio sample; click here to download RealPlayer)

Named for it's triangular rose-red breast patch, the Rose Breasted Grosbeak is one of our most colorful forest songbirds. The male's huried song is an exquisitely beautiful carol. It resembles the song of the robin but is more bright and musical, like the song of "a robin who took singing lessons."
