Yellow Warbler

Herkneth thise blisful briddes how they singe,

Geoffrey Chaucer

Yellow Warbler (RealAudio sample; click here to download RealPlayer)

The widespread Yellow Warbler frequents a variety of brushy habitats, including overgrown fields, shrubby swamps, and backyard thickets. The male's bright and cheerful song is a rapid series of high-pitched notes roughly conforming to the pattern: "sweet, sweet, sweet, sweeter-than-sweet" or "sweet, sweet, sweet, I'm-so-sweet."
