| As a cicada biologist it has been essential for me to hear their species-specific songs. But age has now caught up with me and I have lost my high frequency hearing and so just can't hear many of the smaller species at all. This has curtailed my field research considerably. The SongFinder Plus has been a life saver. It enables me to hear all the small cicadas again. I just can't believe how well it works. I now have the ability to hear some species with very soft, high frequency songs that even my young colleagues have trouble hearing.
